Virginia Adventures III

Parting with friends is a sadness. A place is only a place. -Thufir Hawat

Our first Garage sale is accomplished. I hope there will never be another.  It's a heck of a process, selling and haggling and interacting with many people. I think it went swimmingly, but I don't want to do it again.  We sold a huge number of items that we've held onto for one reason or another.

However, when we arrive in Virginia, the first thing we're doing once we recover from the Journey is having some sort of moving sale.  We met all our neighbors during the sale we had before leaving, people we'd lived around for 6 years, but never met for one reason or another.  We've sold our whole rabbitry, and have a possible buyer for the chickens. The goats have new homes, but the horses, sheep, and llamas will be coming with us.

Monday was the day for the photographer to take pictures for the real estate listing. The whole day was a whirlwind of cleaning and hiding everything we hadn't been able to pack or sell. We started early, then just kept working right up until the photographer got there.  All the effort was worth it, because he commented that it looked perfect for photographs, and he was quite impressed with the property.  He did 3d pictures, regular pictures, and pictures with a drone.

Today we get our container dropped off, we'll pack that up with all we want to bring with, but don't need right now. We're also sorting out from our major cleaning experience, finding where we stashed things for the photography but now need to continue to live while still trying to sell our house. Once that's full, we might ship it off to be stored somewhere.

In other news, last night I tried Carne en su Jugo for the first time, and my life has been changed. A deeply cilantro based sauce with a lot of side ingredients that you put in as you eat the dish.  It's amazing, and I highly recommend it if you like cilantro and if you can find it on the menu.

We also got the first draft of a contract from the owners of the house we're buying in Virginia, and it looks pretty good.  We had some tweaks, but we'll be signing soon and will make us all much more confident about the end of the process.

A lot is going on, so I apologize if I'm not responsive. Hopefully, things will be slowing down for a bit.
